for Easy MD

Files you choose

Easy MD can access a folder only after you select it through Apple’s system document picker. The app uses that access to show folders and read Markdown documents. It does not create, edit, rename, move, or delete your files.

Your document contents, file paths, Favorites, and reading history are not sent to Avocado Lab or the advertising SDK.

Information stored on your device

The app saves a secure folder permission and the display name of the folder you selected. It also saves your last folder or document location, Favorites, the ten most recently opened documents, reading position, launch preference, file sort order, Reader preferences for text size, line spacing, font, and background, and your local advertising prompt state. Paths are stored relative to the folder you authorized.

This information is used only to restore your library and preferences between sessions. You can change the starting folder, remove Favorites, or change Reader preferences in the app. Easy MD does not save a copy of your document contents.

This information stays on your device until you replace it by choosing a different folder or remove it by deleting the app. Because Avocado Lab does not receive this information, there is no server-side account or personal data record for us to delete.

If you choose Save Image in the image viewer, Easy MD asks for Photos Add-only permission and saves the selected image to your Photos library. The image remains on your device and is not sent to Avocado Lab.

External links and images

A Markdown document may contain a website link or an image hosted on an HTTPS server. If you open a web link, iOS passes it to the appropriate system app. If a document contains a remote image, your device may contact that image host to load it. That host may receive standard network information such as your IP address. Easy MD does not control the privacy practices of external websites or image hosts.

Advertising and consent

Easy MD uses Google Mobile Ads to show banners in Favorites and Google’s User Messaging Platform to manage applicable advertising consent. These SDKs may contact Google and process data such as approximate location derived from network information, a device identifier, advertising and app interaction data, and crash or performance diagnostics. Google describes its advertising data practices in its advertising privacy disclosures and Privacy Policy.

When applicable, Easy MD asks for advertising consent and offers Privacy Options in Settings. On iOS, it asks for tracking permission after you add your first Favorite and enter Favorites. If you allow tracking, Google may use the advertising identifier for tracking as described in the App Store privacy labels. If you decline tracking, eligible ads may still appear without that identifier. If the consent platform does not allow ad requests or its current status cannot be confirmed, the app does not request an ad. You can change iOS tracking permission in Settings and use the in-app Privacy Options when offered.

Avocado Lab does not receive your Markdown content through these SDKs. Advertising data may be processed by Google under its own policies. The app does not create an Avocado Lab account or run a separate analytics service.

Children’s privacy

Easy MD does not knowingly collect children’s information. Advertising partners may process data as described above; children should use the app with a parent or guardian’s guidance.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before the change is released. The effective date at the top of this page will show when the latest version took effect.
